Ponca Tribe CSP

Good afternoon Directors,

I am sorry to inform everyone that our Tribal Council has decided to discontinue our program as of September 30, 2017. We have had a hard time coming up with our Non Federal Share and due to that we are having to utilize our general funds to cover the cost. Unfortunately this isn’t some thing that can be utilized for the next year, and as of right now there won’t be any new sources to utilize either. I hope that one day we will be able to start our program up again, but until then my staff and I will be looking to transfer into other positions within the our Tribe. It was a pleasure getting to know some of you, and I thank you for all the work that you do for our Native People.

  1. Sorry to hear your Tribe is closing your program. Wish the feds would have listened to us when we told them the indirect match rate was very difficult for many Tribes.

Best wishes as you move forward.

  2. I am sorry to hear this, very unfortunate as staff and for your families receiving services from your program. I agree with Jessie, most Tribes have such a hard time with coming up with the match it would be nice if we could stick with 10% rather 20% since 0% match was denied.

  3. Robin, so sorry to hear this. Good luck with the future, and if we will continue the fight here. Hopefully we can get something changed in the future depending on the new Commissioner and how he looks at things. Best wishes

  4. Robin,

I share the same sentiments as everyone else. I am saddened that this match issue has had this impact on Ponca Nation’s families and staff. Honestly, I hold similar concerns for the future of our program as well. Niyaweh to you and your staff for all of the work that you have done for our people as well.

  5. So sorry to hear this and perhaps in the future this match can get lowered or stay at 10% and not 20%. It is a struggle. Hope that you will be able to continue your program again in the future.
